This is a beautiful island. It has water and green fields aplenty. But also walls that are a thousand years (or two or three) old, and the odd Roman monument, millenia old themselves. Terrace agriculture is perfect for these semi-arid climates. But beyond the practicalities, it’s just beautiful to look at.
