Rue Meyerbeer, Quartier des Musciens, Nice, France
There is so much happening here, in this photograph.
Walking parallel to the Promenade des Anglais, along Rue de France, you can look towards the sea, and there, framed perfectly at the food of the street, is a single palm. For some reason, this makes me giggle.
This is a typical “New Village” neighbourhood. Cars are packed on both sides of the road, gorgeous facades (buildings that aren’t all that old, in fact) bracket you, there’s a boulangerie, two cafes, and four restaurants on every block. There’s a lady on a lawn chair, on the side of the road.
It’s busy, it’s cluttered, it’s crowded, and there in the middle, a single, centered palm tree.
