Things I like about the Calgary Folk Festival. And a few I don’t.
The Good
- The homemade ginger beer – sells out every year. Roy’s Carribean Foods.
- The food; tonnes of great. Homemade ethnic stuff.
- The backpackers. Haven’t seen so many dreds since the hostel in Roma.
- Festival Chairs. ’nuff said.
- Reusable plates. Two bucks gets you a real plate for yer meal. Then you get your two bucks back. Sweet deal, and no plate garbage.
- The venue. Prince’s Island, on the mighty Bow River.
- The dancing girls. Some are really fun to watch.
Things that Bite
- Old hippies. Face facts; the seventies are over.
- Last minute arrivals who sat in front of you.
- Political prosletyzing’ Matt, as much as we love you, we came to hear you sing. Shaddup and sing; we can read about your politics from the website.
- Roll up your tarps by 11:30 (10:00 on Sunday ?!?!). How fecking parochial, eh?
- That damned cow. Pure stinky cheese.
