Where's Teddy Now?

Contrast

In the spirit of carrying the rig with me more often, and of taking advantages of the opportunities that avail themselves to me, I dutifully checked my rear view mirror and, upon seeing noone, slammed on the brakes. Not quite on the Deerfoot, but on the on ramp.

Yes, I was able to pull fully off the road and pull out the Big Dawg, the 70-200.

I was particularly fond of the high contrast effect, and of being able to keep some colour in the sky. ALmost monochrome, and with interesting shapes and patterns.

It’s often remarked to me that it’s the expensive camera that’s responsible for good photography. I know (and would be a fool so say otherwise) that it helps. But more important is having some sense of photo-worthy scenes. And, of course, being in the right place with that expensive equipment.

That’s what I credit most of my shots to, especially when I’m on the road. Which is where I was for this one as well.
