I’ve been thinking (and perhaps waiting) for a while to see what the union of Diana Krall and Elvis Costello might yield musically. Unfortunately, while I may have been waiting, I haven’t been actually searching, or anything like that which might prove interest.
But like most things musical, something just did fall in my lap. And I have the perfect photo to illustrate:
Narrow daylight entered my room
Shining hours were brief
Winter is over
Summer is near
Are we stronger than we believe?
And so, I’m madly downloading the song (from my favourite site on the Barbary Coast), and I look outside, and lo and behold, a flash of sunlight. Out I go and grab Ti’s camera (mine was accidentally left at school), pop on a good lens, and rush out into the street in my housecoat and shoes to grab a few shots.
The three or four cars that passed me chuckled maniacal thoughts, no doubt. As did Ellie, who watched form the window.
Que fais-tu,, Dada!?!?!
Nothing that would embarrass you, peanut. Well, nothing seriously embarrassing, at least.
Anyhow, I got a few interesting shots, with both a short and long lens. And then upon viewing what I’d grabbed, got another idea, and out I went again. Ellie watching stupid Dada throught he window.
But back to the music (‘cos it’s always about the music)… I don’t know if Krall and Costello have collaborated before (I imagine that it would be a natural thing, or else a marriage breaker), but this is rather brilliant. I can hear Elvis all over this song. And I have it (in case you can’t find it yourself).
